Who’s the 2008 sexiest man alive?

Who’s the 2008 sexiest man alive? It’s Hugh Jackman. He just turned 40 on Oct. 12. He’s married for 12 years now to Deborra-Lee Furness whom he met in a TV show in Australia called Correlli. He proposed to her at about three months of dating (That sounds fast). His wife calls his perfect form "the Body of Doom – but she likes what's inside. Jackman sings ballads at home and makes pancakes his two kids, for Oscar, 8, and Ava. I like Hugh Jackman – he is great actor. Do you think he deserves the title?

There are many versions of this soap opera have been made in other countries. If you want to check out the Philippine version, go to Pinoy Channel TV.

Paul Newman is gone!

I was surprised when I read in the news that the cool and hearthrob Paul Newman died yesterday. He was suffering from cancer. He was 83. Newman was an award-winning actor, entrepreneur and a chef-philanthropist. He founded Newman's Own - food products such as cookies, pasta sauces, dressings, salsa, lemonade and many others . I love and patronize his products. They are all natural (no preservatives)! He donates the proceeds after taxes to charitable institution. He will always be remembered.

Maroon 5

I haven't visited this blog for 2 weeks. Oh boy, I need to write some posts here. I got very busy. By the way, I am kinda excited to watch Maroon 5 and Counting Crows concert tonight here in San Diego. My husband got discount tickets from his friend at work. I can't wait to hear the song "This Love". I really like that song. I don't really know Counting Crows but I've probably heard some of their songs on the radio. Watch the video of Maroon 5 (below) that I embedded from youtube.

$15 million for Brangelina's twin kids

Would you pay to see Brad and Angelina's twin kids' photos? Well, I guess People magazine paid $15 million for the photos. That was insanely expensive. It is a 19-page spread in the magazine as it a special and exclusive issue People magazine. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt smacked a hard deal with selling the rights to the first photos of their newborn twins.

Mamma Mia!

We watched the movie "Mama Mia" yesterday at AMC Theater. The movie was ok. But I liked the songs a lot. It is based on a musical show in Vegas. It is starred by Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan and some other stars. There was a lot of corny scenes in the movie which I thought-- was weird. It was all about "Abba" songs. Overall, the movie was OK and good for those audiences that like musical show.

Batman, The Dark Knight

Me and my husband watched "Batman, The Dark Knight" last Saturday. My husband was very excited to see this movie as he likes Batman a lot. He actually bought our tickets in advance on Thursday. We went to the theater early at around nine o'clock. We were surprised to see a lot of people in the theater. My husband liked it but he liked the first one better (just like me). The movie has a lot plots-- which you have to really pay attention. It involves drama and action, of course. The near end was kinda complicated. I wish they didn't make it that way. But anyway, I would give two thumbs up for this movie and to Heath Ledger, in which he did a very good job in this movie.

Basia

I really love Basia's songs. Since I was a kid like in my early teen years which was in late 80's and early 90's--- I've always been fascinated with the songs of Basia. The first song that caught my ears was "One Note Samba". Then followed by "Cruising for Bruising", "A new day for you", "Time and Tide", "Promises" and many others. I embedded a video from you tube here. Take a moment to listen and watch this video. Enjoy!

Watch Bleach the movie

I love Japanese anime. In fact, we have some dvd collections of it here at home. I am curious to watch this upcoming movie, Bleach the Movie will be shown in the theaters today and June 12. The movie is about a young hero, Ichigo Kurosaki who protects every soul. The name means First Guardian or He who protects. Whenever I watch an animation, it feels like I am in the movie too or one of the characters. I would name myself as “Ayamesu”, means, “shining or light” so that I would be the guiding light for the heroes in the story. Wow, I thought about making my own anime story someday. For more information, visit Fathomevents.com and get your tickets at your favorite theaters.

The Vegetable Orchestra

I found this awesome video from you tube. It is really neat. I was really amazed on how they came up with this. They made such beautiful music that sounds like techno. You can dance with it. The vegetable orchestra was founded In Vienna in 1998. The orchestra has 10 musicians, one cook, and one sound technician. It uses musical instruments made out of vegetables. Watch this video!

Miyasaki's animation

We have a collection of some of Miyasaki's animation here at home. One of the movies that I love most is the "Spirited Away". This is a family movie. If you have kids, I am sure your kids would love it. You can find this at Amazon.com. If you want to drive around, you can also find this at Best Buy. My husband really loves "My Neighbor Totoro" and I like it too. Hayao Miyasaki is the prominent director of many popular animated feature films. He is also the co-founder of Studio Ghibli, an animation studio and production company. Miyazaki's films have generally been financially successful, and this success has invited comparisons with American animator Walt Disney's. I also posted this topic in my other blog, My Time Zone. You can also check it out there.

The Winds of Asharra

I really like fantasy, classics, romance novels, etc. Are you also into it? The Winds of aAsharra novel has caught my attention. The book contains 600 pages of fantasy/romance novel. That sounds really interesting considering the pages. It is a newly published and written by R. Leigh. I looked up the Homepage for The Winds of Asharra and I read the synopsis of story. I just could hardly wait to read the whole tale or story of this book. However, the cover of the book is so appealing as it tells the mystery and vagueness of the story and the characters. The Winds of Asharra has its unique style. It is intermingled of creative fantasy, escapade and burning romance in an imaginative scenery.
